Wyatt Slate '27 Recruiting Profile

I love the sport of swimming as it is very applicable to life in many ways. After High School, I would love to continue my journey of growing athletically and academically, while also growing in my faith. I live in Gouverneur. A small town with a population of about 6,000 people located in the North Country. Although my town is small and I didn't have a chance to start competitively swimming until 7th grade, I quickly fell in love with the sport and the small team I work with still to this day. This year, I had the honor of representing Section 7 and 10 at the NYSPHSAA Swimming and Diving Championships were I competed in the 100 breast and the 200 Individual Medley while also swimming with my relay team in the 200 free relay. Our relay ended up placing 24th in the state (the first time any team or person from Gouverneur has made it to the top 25 or 2nd day finals). Apart from swimming, music is one of my most comfortable places. I would gravitate towards a school that can help me balance both of my passions.
