Living near the ocean has fostered my love and desire to swim. Even after Hurricane Sandy, when my family lost their vehicles and had no power for weeks, we made sure that I never missed a swim practice, even though it was 45 minutes away from my home. My goal is to swim competitively in college and achieve an excellent education. My family motto is God, family, work, and that is how I live my life. I work hard every day to achieve my goals, never forgetting that I am fortunate to have the skills and talent to make my dreams come true. I am a great candidate for your team because I will try my best to do my best, not just for myself, but for the team. I strive to always represent myself, my family and my team well by achieving academically and athletically. Though I am very proud to be the 2019 YMCA State Championship in the 15-18 100yd backstroke, I was even prouder when my 400yd medley relay team won first place at the State Championships, because we came from behind, swam as a team, and achieved best times together. I am so proud to be a member of my club and high school teams, because it has taught me friendship, drive and support for others. I have lived every day trying to be the best person I can, and to work as hard as I can, and I know I can contribute all that and more to my college swim team.
