Hello
I’m looking for a D1 opportunity where I can grow as a student, athlete and person. I love a team environment where everyone is willing to work hard and strives to be the best while still having fun and supporting each other. I enjoy school and I’m academically ambitious. Swimming, however, is my passion and I‘m never happier than when I‘m in the water. I‘m a sprinter and speed and competition are what motivate me the most.
At competitions I was often scoring high points for my age group and earning Regional Championship honors. I have since reached time standards for Ontario Provincials and made Jr Nationals at the age of 14. That success made me start to train harder and think about how different parts of my life would help or hinder my success in the pool. This included my diet, my work outs, and even my efforts at school.
I now set goals in all aspects of my life and work towards beating my former bests. I strive to maintain a balance between training, school and work. My educational goals consist of making the honor roll and succeeding in classes that will set me up for the future. I am also a part owner of a small summer lawn business.
My long-term goals would be to make the Olympics in 2024, and 2028. Having the opportunity to attend a school where the balance between academics and athletics is understood would make a huge difference in my life. I want to excel in swimming and in school. I am ready and willing to put in the necessary effort to find success and balance in these aspects of my life.
If you have any questions or feedback, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Happy Swimming,
Josh Davis
