Hi, I am Art(emios) Saarloos, 16 years old, Canadian and Greek national. I was born in Greece where swimming became my greatest passion. At the age of 12 my parents moved from Greece to Canada to give me the best possible education and swim coaching. Despite the significant change of environment I managed to overcome the major cultural, language and life-style barriers. At present I am 3 years in Canada and feel very much at home in the American competitive culture.
In high school I perform very well with a 4.0 GPA and earned this year Honors in Law and Math. I've qualified for the 3rd consecutive year for the Canadian National Championships. My major accomplishment is winning 3 x gold on relays and numerous times A and B finalist at the Canadian Junior National Championships. At present I am ranked in top-5 of ny age group in Canada un various strokes. Last year I also won several gold medals at international swim meets in Denmark and Slovakia.
Next to my physical features, my strongest points are respect, persistence and discipline. I am a real team player in the pool and in school and in my community. I consider top-level swimming and education as a great privilege and critical to the success of my future, the reputation of my family and my school. I show great respect for my parents, my teachers and coaches for their great efforts and dedication to help me succeed.
I strive for academic and athletic excellence. I am pleased to work with professional recruiters and coaches in USA to find the best fit school to secure my future and achieve our common goals. I will strive to become a role-model for my classmates and team members. I thank my parents, who were both succesful in top sports (professional) and in business, for their ongoing support and creating the best possible conditions for me to succeed in life, career and sports. Also my twin sister who's ranked top-5 in Canada on breaststroke is very important. We grew up and train and study together.
I am looking forward to get acquainted.
