Gunner Norene '24 Recruiting Profile

Hi! My name is Gunner Norene and I'm currently a sophmore at Blythewood High School in Blythewood, South Carolina. I swim for Gamecock Aquatics along with my varsity swim team at school. My goals heading into the future consist of qualifying for Futures, breaking Blythewood High School records, and ultimately swimming at the collegiate level. I have qualified for SC Senior State Championships and SCHSL State Championships multiple times. My best events are the 200 Fly, 200 Free, 100 Free and 100 Fly.  I am aiming to be a captain next year for my high school team (only juniors and seniors can be a captain) and my main goal is to improve the team culture drastically while also making us more competitive. Outside of swimming, I am very successful in school and I do lots of community service. I would like to major in Journalism in college. Some characteristics that I pride myself on is my work ethic and good attitude. I always give 110% in whatever I do and I do it with a positive mindset.
