I started swimming for my neighborhood swim team in elementary school, and partly into middle school. In 8th grade I decided that I wanted to swim for a club team. Ever since then I fell in love with swimming. I joined my high school team and went to state as an alternate my Freshman year. That was a really big moment for me because I hadn't been swimming very long, and my coach chose me to go to state with them.
During club swimming I started to get shoulder pain when I swam long distances, and also my hips were in pain too. That was a struggle for me because my mom basically said I'll be okay. So, I kept swimming and wasn't getting better. She took me to a doctor and I got everything fixed over the next couple of months. I was super excited to back into really training hard. I know I be a really good member of a team because I get really excited over small things, and I always love seeing my teammates achieve their goal. I can't wait to be a part of a new swimming family.
