Swimming has always been a way for me to relax, have fun with my coaches and teammates, and most importantly, find ways to push myself to be a better athlete. If ten years ago someone had told me about the journey that swimming would take me on and how it would eventually lead to the person I am today, I know I never would have believed them. While I am thankful for the happy moments with my family, friends, and everything in between, time has flown by too quickly. I love this sport - even the grueling practices and having to wake up earlier than all the other non-swimmers- which is why I know that I am ready to go to the next level.
If I'm going to be completely honest, I could say for sure that what makes me unique is my logical and strategical approach to the sport. Being someone who is passionate about STEM has given me more insight on how to approach problems rationally while working to find the best solution. However, one thing I have learned throughout my years is that sports are something that can never be purely calculated. No matter how much I strategize, the only thing in my mind when I am racing is making sure that I am giving it my all. The last thing I want to say about myself is that I never give up, and I know how to handle inevitable failure. That's why when I set my mind to something, I will always make sure I find a way to reach my goals.
