My goals are to make it to the highest level I possibly can and compete at the most elite capacity. I am very dedicated and a hard worker, and even when I am not seeing progress it motivates me to push harder and do better. I am always looking for ways to improve whether it be in my stroke, dive, head positioning or strength. Despite all the adversity I've faced including car accident that debilitated me for 18 months, shoulder, broken wrists, ankles, displaced knee, Hurricane Harvey and having to relocate, adverse reaction to black mold because of Hurricane Harvey destroying my home, hospital visits including this past week!! I've always come back stronger and faster surprising myself and my coaches. I understand adversity creates strength and wisdom! I can handle responsibility, as I've proven this by committing to raising pigs and a steer for FFA, volunteering at God's Rainbow Christian Academy with their at risk youth, and the DePelchin Center when they allowed volunteers. I've always dedicated my time, talent and treasure wherever and whenever I was called to action and whenever I saw the need. I don't just want to be an excellent swimmer but I also want to inspire others around me who also look like me to want more and to do better. I don't just want to break the mold I want to create a new one that includes many avenues of success for those who may not have access to stellar swim programs. I was only able to compete and train because I found every odd job from mucking stalls to training dogs to cleaning up peoples yards to pay for my swim, FFA, animals, basketball...etc. I may have come from a single mom with four children but one thing she did instill in me among many attributes is the willingness to work hard to accomplish my goals and make my dreams a reality.
