I began learning how to swim before I was even a year old. Five years ago, when my parents and I moved from Brazil to Norway, they encouraged to swim for a competitive swim club. At first, I was skeptical about diving into a new and more serious level of the sport, but after making it to a regional and qualifying for a national meet changed everything. It ignited a deeper passion for swimming, showed how much potential I truly had, and my desire to improve has only grown stronger.
Over these past five years, competitive training has taught me valuable things, specifically perseverance through challenges, discipline, and dedication toward achieving my goals. Swimming has become a way for me to grow, as it pushes me to work harder both in the pool and outside of the pool.
I hope to swim for a top university team, where I can continue to improve my athletically and academic capabilities. I’m eager to challenge myself further and become the best version of myself, both in my studies and as an athlete.
