I had not ever swam competitively until my Freshman Year at Katy High School when I joined the JV Swim Team. I advanced in the sport naturally and work hard to study technique and train. That Summer during a subdivision swim team I discovered my Butterfly strengths. I was surrounded by talented Coaches that supported my training and in the beginning of my Sophomore year I was ranked up to Varsity with my High School Swim Team. My time continued to improve throughout the season and when season was over I wanted to continue my training and joined Power Aquatics because I heard Sharon Power was known for building great Butterfly swimmers. I trained with her and her team four days a week all Summer until it was time to go back to the Katy High School Swim Team. My biggest challenge came when I couldn't break under a minute on the 100 Butterfly but with hard work and more technique training that time was broken over and over again. I really wanted to swim TISCA this year and worked hard to qualify for 50 Yard Freestyle and 100 Yard Butterfly. At TISCA I took 2 seconds off my 100 Butterfly time (58.03) then last week at the District Competitions I took 2 more seconds off my 100 Butterfly (56.03) and 2 seconds off my 100 Yard Freestyle. I have done all of this in just three years in the sport, injury free and never have I missed a meet and at this rate I expect my 100 Butterfly will be around 50 seconds when I graduate from Katy High School in the Spring of 2107. I am looking for a University that has a Level 1 or 2 swim team when I enter college as a Freshman in 2017.
