I always work hard and will give100% toward practice, no matter how hard the set or something may seem I always persevere for the betterment of myself. I do also try to encourage team members to do their best as well. Additionally, being born on Guam and living abroad for most of my life has given me a unique global perspective. I can relate to team member of varying backgrounds which I think makes me a great team mate. Because of COVID, Stony Point High School Swim team has been quarantined multiple times this year, causing missed practices and meets. My on record times do not reflect my true ability. I also believe that with only swimming, with the exception of summers, for the past 3 years, I can exceed a coaches expectations with the right training and program.
My ultimate academic goal is to become an architectural engineer. I have heard that majoring in engineering and being an athlete is challenging, but I am willing to put in the work and I understand that there are many paths to get me to that end goal. March 13th, we were sent home, from school, for Spring Break thinking we would return in a week. I have not seen the inside of my school since. The abrupt change in learning has not been easy for me, however, I am bouncing back and committed to doing my best.
