Since I was eight years old, I’ve dreamed of swimming at the next level. Swimming has been a major part of my life, dating back to when I joined The Woodlands Swim Team at age six. So many moments throughout my swimming career have helped me to grow and develop as both a person and a student-athlete. I’ve experienced many highs that included being apart of an amazing team that won multiple Texas age group swimming state championships, and many lows consisting of sporadic coaching changes that forced both me and my teammates to take a completely different view on the sport of swimming. However, no matter what happened, through all of the thick and thin, my teammates have always been there as amazing friends, people that push me when practice gets hard, and people that will always be at my side when adversity strikes. I want to continue to compete in college, because I want to be apart of something bigger than myself, make lifelong friendships, and take something away from swimming that I can apply to my everyday life.
This year, I was fortunate enough to be elected as the varsity team captain. I feel that have leadership skills and an amazing work ethic that I can bring to a college roster. I hope to find a program that will provide me with my needs both academically as well as athletically. I also look for a program that I can grow as both a swimmer and a person.
