Outside of the pool, I am a leader in my local scout troop and a part of the broadcast journalism club hoping to become a producer of our daily show next year. I have also begun to take leadership roles in both my summer team and high school team. For my summer team, I am an assistant coach focusing on the 12 and unders where I teach them stroke mechanics and technique. At summer meets get everyone fired up to race and win for the team. On my high school team, I have helped in any way I can, firing up swimmers both older and younger than me as well as "adopting a freshman" this year helping them learn the ropes and help them out any way I can. Despite all of this, I pride myself on being able to have an active social life and swim life while being able to maintain an A average for all of my classes even with AP and honors classes in school. Overall, I bring a competitive spirit and love for the sport that lights up both practices and classes I am in.
My in pool accomplishments are that I am currently ranked 29th in the state of Virginia for all Juniors and am in the top 500 ranked Juniors in the nation by College Swimming. During my freshman year, I was the only freshman at my school to make it to region 6D championships where I finished 12 in the 500 Free in finals. I then followed it up my sophomore year by placing 1st in the region then going on to be being the only sophomore in my school to make Class 6A State championships individually in three events and one relay. At State, I placed 6th overall in the 500 Free. These experiences opened my eyes to my potential in my sport and made me want to work harder to achieve the goals I set for myself in High School and Club. My Club goals for the longest time have been to make Eastern Zone Sectionals and travel to the meet with my club. In my sophomore year, I accomplished these goals by making 5 Sectionals time cuts.
