I have been swimming since I was five years old on summer swim teams. I began year round swimming at the age of seven. Around 10 years old I began to really enjoy the competitive aspects of swimming and setting time goals for myself. I enjoy meeting other swimmers and find it to be a great mix of competitiveness and camaraderie that I don't find in other sports. I have so many friends within my club team, other local teams and across the US that I swim hard against and then laugh with on the side of the pool. I recently was selected to go to the National Select Camp at the Olympic Training facility in Colorado and that had a really big impact on me. We learned so much about the entire picture of being a well rounded athlete and heard from some great speakers. I feel I am an asset to my team because I bring humor and relationship building to the team. I focus on my academics as well because I know that is the number one priority as I look toward my college application process. I know I want to swim on a team in college and I look forward to finding the right fit.
