Victor Kostov '21 Recruiting Profile

Born in Montreal, Canada and later moving to the US, experiences during my early, formative years taught me how to relate to different cultures as well as a variety of relationships. Those experiences strengthened my awareness and resolve to fight to achieve my life’s dreams. More on that later!

Moving from Canada to the US presented another set of challenges: a new school, different friends, an unknown atmosphere, fresh relationships, and another language to learn. At that point, I ventured even farther into my new world to become part of the local swim team. While soon finding friends who also love swimming, I began to realize a strong passion for swimming and competing.

Neither of my parents are athletes or early risers by choice, but they supported me all the way and made sure that I got to the pool by 6 a.m. for swim practice. Their unending support always provides motivation for me to succeed.

Now I’m dedicated to swimming and my swim teammates. I feel that daily, early morning and after-school swimming throughout the school year requires passion as well as dedication to improving my swim game. While listening to my coach’s advice, each practice and every swim meet are an opportunity for me to formulate, develop and fine tune my life goals.

While one day looking back on the valuable lessons I’ve learned along the way, I’m confident that my passion and dedication will lead me to make the right choices for my personal and professional life ahead.
