Personal Statement

My name is Ally Knutson and I have been involved with softball since I was 5. My whole life I have played shortstop and recently I have made a smooth transition to outfield for my high school team. I am a 3 sport athlete as well as a full IB student at Bay Port High School in Green Bay Wisconsin. Playing 3 sports means I am always working hardest to stay in shape in the off-season on top of fall and winter softball practices and tournaments. The most important thing for me in a college is that it has a great biochemistry or chemistry program and comfortable environment. I prefer colleges on the East Coast of any size, but I am open to anything.

Something that I believe sets me apart from other players are my base running skills, during last year's club season I scored 14 times in the 19 games that we played that summer. I also had 9 stolen bases as well. Something that definitely helps with this is my batting average at 0.435 against some of the best pitchers in the midwest. Along with all of these, I also had 43 put-outs at shortstop and in the outfield, that is 2.3 put outs per game. A large reason why our team would come out successful in a lot of these games was our camaraderie, it is a given that we all support each other and bring people up. Softball and Biochemistry are my two passions and to be able to continue those at a high level will be an honor.
