I started playing tennis when I was about 12 years old. I had played baseball and basketball before tennis and had enjoyed it very much, but I didn't find the connection like I did in tennis. I was the biggest one on the basketball court and could have took the ball from anyone, but I was too kind and was known as, "The Gentle Giant". On the baseball field, I enjoyed it but just didn't find something in it that I wanted and ended up leaving the sport when I was 10 years old due to a bad coach. I had found tennis and immediately fell in love with it. There was something that I couldn't get over and wanted to be on the court as much as possible. I didn't know if I wanted to play college until I was 16 years old and realized that it would be a great opportunity and would definitely be something that I would be interested in.
I am a leader and captain of my team. I believe in building myself as well as my team to work hard, represent great sportsmanship and play with integrity. I maintain great relationships with my coaches, teammates and classmates by building trust and always encouraging them to be their best.
