Weil Tennis Acade...Personal Statement
My name is Santiago Montgomery and I would like to play college tennis. I have been playing tennis since I was y years old. I learned tennis from my dad and continued with him today. I have also trained at several full time and part time tennis academies in California, Florida and Mexico. Most notibly are Sanchez Casal Tennis Academy in Florida, LubTennis Academy in Saratoga, California, Academia Club de Monte Verde in Guadalajara, Mexico and Weil Tennis Academy in Ojai, California where I am currently a full time academy student.
My goal is to find a college where I can play on an NCAA team and study my passion and major, Computer Science and Engineering. I would make a great addition to the team because I have been taught the value of what it is to be apart of a team since I was very young. I enjoy working with others and know that I can bring a lot to a program with work ethics and respect for the game.

- I have been training under my dad, Javon Montgomery who is a full time tennis instructor and owner of Gripspin Tennis Academy. During this time my dad has worked on all aspects of my tennis game and helped to prepare me for competition. He also helps to director other coaches on my training.

- I have been with Lu Tennis Academy for several years. Lu Tennis Academy has been my source of training for competitive training and tournament preparation. Coach Lu has had some of Northern California's top tennis players at his academy while I have been training there. Arya Chadhaury (Stanford 2020) was one of the biggest influences on the academy and at the time one of the top performers.
