Hey coaches,
My name is Easton Weir and it is my goal and dream to play college tennis. Let me tell you a little about myself!
I have a strong work ethic and apply it to my tennis, mental game, fitness, and academics. I am a natural leader and have experience in leadership from serving on student council and becoming middle school valedictorian. I am now a leader on my high school tennis team, and really enjoy encouraging and supporting my teammates and bringing energy to the group. My teammates and I have a mutual respect, and all enjoy pushing each other to get better. I am easygoing by nature, but also very competitive and fiery at times. In my sophomore year at Mission College Prep, I helped lead my team to the school's first ever boys tennis CIF title. Also, as the team's number one player in my sophomore year, I was the first Mission Prep boys player to ever advance to the CIF individuals.
I am very passionate about tennis, and pursuing my goal of playing in college. When I made the decision to commit to that goal, I knew it wasn't going to be easy. But I accepted the challenge and continue to work harder and harder to achieve this goal. One thing I appreciate about college tennis is the camaraderie. You get to build yourself and your teammates up, and work hard together. This is something I have experienced on my high school team and would love to experience at the college level. What I am looking for is an active tennis program that is competitive and pushes me to become a better tennis player and person.
Outside of tennis, I played baseball for eight years, and volleyball for four. I have played classical piano for eight years. My GPA since fourth grade has been a 4.0 or higher. I have been involved in Boy Scouts and student council, and am president of the Ping Pong Club at my school.
Thank you for reading my personal statement!
