Hi, my name is Alan and I’m a Dutch player living in Belgium.
About 4 years ago I started focusing more on tennis, and since then it has become an important part of my life. Last year, I trained at Justine Henin Academy and now I am playing 20 hours per week with two former top 100 ATP players.
I am working hard on a daily basis to improve my skills and game, and always try to learn something new when I step on the court. I am very motivated to maximize my potential as a tennis player and I want to reach the top tennis level. My coaches value my ability to turn their advice into practice and my private tennis coach (a Belgian former ATP top 100 player) is very impressed by the progress I have been able to make. Moreover, coaches like to have me on their team since I inspire others through effort, am always prepared to help, and serve as a role model.
My ambition is to study business in the U.S. and to combine this with NCAA Division 1 level tennis. This is a unique experience and an opportunity to have the perfect base for a professional tennis career and ensure that I can succeed in “normal” life. To make it easier to join the US system, I switched to the US school system. I am following classes online which requires a lot of self-organization and perseverance. My GPA of my first year in the US system (Grade 11) was 3.84.
