As my high school tennis career was coming to an end, I realized tennis was a much bigger part of my identity than I had previously thought. Even with season over, I could not stop my desire to be on court daily. This is what has prompted me to explore furthering my athletic career.
My work ethic is second to none. I will work harder than anyone on the team. At my athletic awards night my coach summed it up perfectly saying there has never been a day, match or just practice, that I have not given 100%. I have faced difficult opponents that resulted in losing the first set; at this point a lot of players might get frustrated and give up, but this is when I check-in and rise to the challenge. In adverse situations I can control my mental game.
I was co-captain of my team this year because I have great leadership skills and am excellent at rallying my teammates and pushing them to better themselves. I strive to be my best on and off the court. My academics are very important to me, and my first priority is for a college to provide an exceptional education.
