Jace Walker '22 Recruiting Profile

Hi my name is Jace Walker, I am from Missouri. Some collegiate goals for me would include being the best student and athlete possible! Aspirations would include playing the highest-level tennis, I dream of hopefully getting a scholarship to college. I am willing to work hard in the classroom as well as on the court to achieve both athletic and academic goals. Before the impact of the Coronavirus, I dedicated a minimum of 20 hours a week on the courts. Equally, after getting home from my court work, I focus as much time as needed to complete the classwork in my advanced coursework. I am a good candidate for any team because I listen and apply advice I receive from coaches, and I have been told by my personal and high school coaches I am very easily coachable, which sets me apart from other players.

I differ from other recruits due to my attitude on and off the tennis court. In the classroom I am very engaged for learning. While on the court, I focus and remain engaged in the match or practice. Each time I step on the court, I give my all. My academics may be comparable to other athletes, I am not certain. But I have been in advanced classes for the last 3 years, carrying an unweighted GPA of 3.5 or higher and a weighted GPA of 3.77. My academic goal is to finish high school with a 4.0 GPA. I was fortunate for the 2020-21 school year to be accepted in an International Studies Academy program which will give me an opportunity to complete the IB Career Certificate Program my junior year of high school. Most important, I believe I differ from other athletes because I work to stay in shape year round by participating in Cross Country, maintaining my time on the tennis courts, and I am always striving to get better at the sport I love.
