Tennis has given me everything in life. My father grew up in India as one of the highest ranked juniors in the country and has worked with tennis his whole life. When he introduced me to the sport at the ripe age of 3, I fell in love with it. I was so determined to become one of the best players in the world, as most kids aspire to do. Unfortunately, my dad had lost his love for the sport, and did not want me to lose my love for it either by overworking me. I have always had to push myself to become a better player, which made my life more difficult, but taught me independence and dedication. I have played number one singles on my varsity tennis team since the 7th grade, and would always help the other kids try to be better players, even though they were a lot older. I have basically been the team captain since then, and have showed great leadership skills; from bringing the team closer, to encouraging many to practice the sport even in the off-season. Tennis is not typically a team sport, and can be one of the most mentally challenging sports in the world, but having to push myself from such a young age, has shaped my mentality into one that is difficult to break. During the few tournaments I have been able to convince my father to take me too, I have seen how well I am able to handle myself during low points, and being able to forget the bad shots I have. When I had the realization of not being able to play on the tour, my goals shifted towards playing in college. Of course there is still a chance to go pro after college, but being able to play on a team would mean a lot to me. Having a team, is like having another family. With my mix of strong academics, top 4 in my class, and high level of play, I would like to attend a school with good academics, as well as a good tennis team. Being able to have a built in set of friends when I start college will be a game changer. I have always grown up watching some of the best collegiate athletes, and wanting to be able to celebrate a big win with all of the guys is something I look forward too. I appreciate the time you have taken to look through my profile, and the best way to contact me is through my phone number.
