Personal Statement

Thank you for taking a minute to look at my profile!

UPDATE: I am currently an all year academy student at the John Newcombe Tennis Academy in New Braunfels, TX. I will be graduating from University of Texas High School.

Update: 10/11/2021 - My family and I have decided that I will complete my senior year at the John Newcombe Tennis Ranch in New Braunfels, TX. My commitment to the game of tennis is one I take very seriously & I'm very fortunate to have parents who both support and invest in my future in the game.

I am a high school sophomore and I have been playing tennis since 7th grade. When I started, I just wanted to try it out to see if I would like it. Over the last year, I have been really focused on developing all aspects of my game. I am training on the court 3-5 hours a day: 2 - 3 hours at varsity practice, 1 hour of private coaching (Monday only),  and 2 hours of Top Shot tennis clinic (Monday's only).  I also do strength and conditioning three times a week with a trainer. On the weekends, I play in as many UTR and USPTA tournaments as I can. My game is not perfect, but it is growing consistently. I think I grew the most through my distance learning experience at the beginning of this year. Having not been able to go to the courts, I decided to make tennis an extra part of my "school day". Deciding to do the extra taught me that my goals are in my hands. I just have to put them to work.

My collegiate goals are to complete college Summa Cum Laude and compete in the top 3 on the team.  I am a good candidate for the team because I actively work to get better daily. I am willing to dedicate extra time to watching film, improving reaction time, and enhancing my speed. My ability to stay calm and put others before myself  helps me to react to things logically and not just out of emotions. I am a fast academic learner and this transfers into my athletics. I also like art (drawing, clay, and spray paint art) because it is a way to fill free time.
