I graduate in May 2022 and am planning on delayed enrollment hoping to play for a college come January 2023. I will be training at IMG academy and will use this opportunity to prepare for the college tennis world. I am extremely excited for this stage in my life and I am ready to see where this path takes me.
Tennis has always been a part of my life ever since I was little. Both of my parents are former state champions, and my Dad played college tennis. I have always loved the sport and played a lot of tennis when I was younger. However, going into junior high and high school, I played other sports with the school, these sports included: track, football, tennis, and basketball.
My goal for tennis is to play at the highest level I can play at. I want to be the best I can be academically and athletically. I understand that this will take hard work, but I am ready and willing to do what it takes. Some steps I am taking to reach my goal would be taking a gap year to train at IMG Academy, hoping to be recruited and committed by January. I plan to increase my rank during this time and build up my skills both mentally and physically.
I would be a good candidate for college tennis because I have played on teams before and held leadership roles. I was elected tennis MVP all four years of High School, played quarterback on the football team, and ran track on the relays. Moreover, I will be able to handle the academic toll that comes with being a college student-athlete as I took dual credit courses all throughout high school and received an associate's degree with Phi Theta Kappa and on the Dean's List.
I am different then most tennis players as I come from a tiny town in Texas where I had to drive over an hour and a half to find good coaching. On top of this I competed for my school in many events both athletic and academically( acquiring state medals in both). Being from a small town and growing up on a ranch I have learned the value of hard work and how to work hard. I believe this has led me to become a very disciplined person who is willing to put in the work to achieve a goal.
