As a hugely competitive person, it has always been my priority to give everything I have on the courts to improve every day. It's my priority to continue competing in a competitive setting because it's my passion and more than a hobby. From the moment I started tennis in middle school, I knew I'm gonna play for as long as my body lets me. My goal is to continue playing in college while creating memorable moments and sharing my passion with my teammates, coaches, and opponents.
Going into my senior year, as the team’s captain, I’ve assumed the responsibility to lead others by example; that being mentally, spiritually, and emotionally. As for my tennis game, I’ve developed a strong pressure baseliner game in singles and a volatile playstyle in doubles. I consider my game strengths to be my fast and precise forehand, a stable backhand packed with topspin, and a good first serve. On the theoric side, I have a strong mentality that enables me to play every point to my fullest.
I’ve put in the most hours in tennis for the last couple of years. I’ve gone to summer camps, private lessons, and many night sessions with the goal to catch up with prodigies who started playing when they were kids. Even if I don’t make it to the team right away, I’ll work hard and join the tennis team of the college I decide to go to.
Academically, I field a 4.33 weighted GPA as well as a plethora of honor classes. I’m a member of NHS and a former member of the BETA club. Furthermore, I passed and am certified with the CompTIA+ Technician and Testout PC PRO certifications which are well-known technology information certificates. I'm perfectly bilingual in Spanish and English because I was raised in Barquisimeto (Venezuela) but moved here and thus learned English. I’ve worked with electricians as little as 14 years old jobs mainly in remodeled houses, but I’m currently employed by Walmart in order to pay for my tennis expenses like summer camps and drills.
I’m committed to making the most out of my opportunities and forever excited for my journey’s next steps. Whatever my next step may be, I wanna be a role model for the community, make my parents proud, and prove myself when I step on the courts.
