March 2016Personal Statement
My name is James Duke and I am a senior at New Caney High School. I have been playing tennis for about three years and have worked my way to the top spot on my school's varsity team. This past year I took second place in my district and moved on to the regional meet which was the biggest accomplishment I have made thus far in my tennis career. Competing in the regional tournament gave me an incite as to the skill levels of the other players in my region and it has motivated me to be better than they are. My short-term goal for this upcoming school year is to win at regionals and make it to the state tournament. Long-term, I would like to make some sort of career out of tennis, and I am looking to play competitively in college.
