My goal as an athlete is to reach my greatest potential and let the results follow.
I am homeschooling my junior year in order to get my grades and level of play up.
I would be a good candidate because I am willing to step up to any challenge and as a late bloomer (120 pounds until this past June) I have been the little guy and have learned to fight and scrap for every point.
My collegiate goal is to be a key part of my team in winning matches, being a good teammate, and help the team reach its highest potential.
In the past year I went from a mid tier Texas player (champ) to a top tier player (super) after seeing a sports psychologist. I immediately started winning matches and made 2 finals in 2 tournament appearances to advance into the super level. The psychologist helped me gain the confidence and focus needed to win these matches and the results were many sub 60 minute matches.
In 8th grade I had my serve clocked at the us open using the on court radar and had a first serve of 90 mph. my first serve has only improved and now i have an arsenal from an "American" twist, to a slice, to a kick, and a flat serve; each of which can be placed accurately to each part of the box.
My greatest serve ,especially in doubles due to my positioning wider out, is a wide serve that can bounce within 4 feet of the net and ultimately kicks out to hit the side fence or end up as an ace. On deuce side I can hit this with a slice and on ad side with a kick serve.
First serve is an average of 105 and goes in 8/10 times.
