My coach and teammates have described me as "not flashy or showy, just quietly solid, persistent, and successful." I enjoy listening to the conversation and only talking when I have a point to add. In tennis, I have a solid all court game. I hit hard off the forehand and have decent power on my backhand...My coach is working with me on building a stronger backhand and on finishing points at the net. We are working on taking command of points early, being aggressive with high percentage tennis.
I bring a lot to my high school team, cheering on my teammates and pumping them up. My freshman year I was undefeated 21-0 at singles 1 and 19-1 at doubles 1. I was awarded Virginia Independent Conference Player of the Year, Singles Champion, and the VISAA-Division 2-Player of the Year. My goal for my sophomore year was to go undefeated in singles and doubles, but the season was cancelled due to the Pandemic. My Junior year I was undefeated in singles and was awarded the Virginia Independent Conference Player of the Year 2021. We did no have the individual Singles Tournament in our Conference this year due to the Covid restrictions on boarding schools.
I am planning on playing in some ITA Summer Circuit tournaments, working out, practicing with my coach, friends and teammates that are able to play. There are some opportunities to play USTA Tournaments and UTR events in the Mid Atlantic Section.
I want to find a college where I can balance my education, tennis, and social life. I don't have a specific major picked out, but I enjoy science, math and history.
