I am a motivated self starter and team player. I have been on the varsity tennis team as both a high school freshman and sophomore playing number one doubles and subbing as number two singles. As a sophomore, my team took second in league, my doubles partner and I placed first in the 3A SSC league conference, and we placed fourth at district and will be heading to State in May. As a freshman, the team took second in league, and my doubles partner and I finished the post season as alternates for State.
Academically, I currently have a 4.0 GPA and will have completed 5 AP classes by the end of sophomore year including AP Calculus AB. I will be pursuing my associates degree in math during my junior and senior years of high school at a local college to further my academic interest in mathematics.
I believe one of my interests that might make me stand apart from other candidates is my love of the piano. I have been a national and international piano competitor and prizewinner since the age of 8 and have most recently won the gold medal at the Chopin Foundation NW Piano Competition. I also travelled to Germany this past summer to participate in a juried music festival and performed as both a member of a quintet and soloist. The years of practicing for recitals and competitions and performing for live audiences and judges has made me mentally stronger and helped me to gain a better perspective on hard work, diligence, and managing multiple priorities at the same time.
