Hello,
My name is Shay. I am a Junior at Woodinville High school. I have always been athletic and played Select baseball for many years before switching to tennis. I am a Varsity tennis player for my high school playing Singles 2 and 3 positions. I made the varsity team as a freshman in high school and represent my school in the King County District Tournaments every year. I have been chosen to be the Captain of the team in my senior year.
I am a good student with a 4.3 weighted (3.97 unweighted) GPA. I like to challenge myself with college level classes and I also like to lead activities. I was elected Senior Class president of my high school and look forward to making some changes next year and leading seniors to a memorable last year of high school. I also belong to many clubs and represented my school at the Future Business Leaders of America conference becoming a state finalist.
I have always been interested in becoming a doctor. I'd like to take Pre-med classes and combine them with some Engineering classes for my undergraduate degree. I am a COPE Junior Health Scholar at Swedish Medical Hospital in Seattle as I wanted to explore the hospital environment and shadow some doctors before choosing my career path.
I am also a US Naval Sea Cadet. I like the discipline and the patriotism required to be a Naval cadet. I completed a grueling 9 day recruit training course Camp Williams, Utah. I am looking forward to going to the US Naval Academy in Annapolis this summer for an internship.
I am looking forward to playing tennis this summer and advancing my UTR by playing many tournaments. I am a focused, determined, and a disciplined person and I look forward to getting better at a sport I love to play.
