In 2017, I started to compete competitively in Track and Field outside of the school season which after joining I knew that I wanted to pursue my athletic career into my post-secondary and also to give back to the track community by volunteering at the meets, coaching at my highschool to give other athletes the thrill of competing and to help teach them the sport which is the bases of every sport and pursuing my studies into kinesiology to later go into physiotherapy. My collegiate aspiration is to have the change to compete on a NCAA team to have the ability to compete against other high performance athletes in both indoor and outdoor season.
For the past year of my career, I was getting coach by Jessica Zelinka but when she could not run with me on workouts I would have to mentally push myself without aid of running with other athletes. I believe that this show the dedication since training alone can become a hard task because you would have to put max effort into training even without the support athletes which helps you push through hard times.
I peers and coaches has said that I know how to lift the mood even after a loss but even with my outgoing personality that I know how to bring it back to be able to be in the zone while training. My times from last year had increased dramatically from past years while not having the ability to run against other athletes in sessions which talking with athletes from all part of the world do believe that having training partners help your overall performance. Ever since I was 12, I have been competing in high performance sports that took me away from school for many days but my marks have shown that I have been able to balance my athletics and academics.
