Hello all! My name is Lucas Garin, I am very serious and dedicated in participating in collegiate levelled athletics. I am currently at Butte College and I am looking at colleges to transfer to for Track and Field and to pursue my education. I plan on becoming a Physical Therapist Assistant and I am hoping I can make an athletic career out of the college that I decide to transfer with. What makes me a good candidate for the team, specifically, is that I love to work hard. I love any workout regardless of what it is, I won't complain about the workout or any practices for that matter because I believe it can affect you in a mental aspect. Personally, I view track and field to be a very gutty/mental sport so if anything being negative about everything can create a block in your head and I feel that it is a lot harder to PR in a race if you hate running the race. My goals have shifted throughout the years and I have come to realize that I am definitely more capable of hitting times I never thought I could, which makes me extremely stubborn to the fact of giving up. I personally have a goal of hitting 49 seconds for the 400m and breaking the 22 second barrier for the 200m. I personally view myself as different from other recruits in academics because I have an actual interest in what I am studying and already know what I want to do with my degree which makes it a lot easier and makes me more motivated to understand the material. As a character I love using my knowledge and skills to support others, whether its co-workers or fellow student athletes. I am a very easy-to-meet type of guy and I get along with everyone, I typically like to bring up the ideas of teammate activities like hiking or going on long runs with teammates as bonding. For any coaches looking for this type of guy ^ shoot me an email! Thank you for checking my account out.
