During races I will push myself to go faster. I always have a drive to excel in Cross Country. I am incredibly supportive of my teammates, and will always cheer them on regardless of their times or places because I believe that without a supportive team, enjoyment for others in the sport would not be possible. I won 1st place for the Freshman division in 2016 representing York School during the MTAL Championships which led me to receive the most valuable Freshman runner award for Cross Country that same year. I was placed on the varsity team at the start of the season as a Sophomore. I ran my first race coming back after long months of training and hard work, and ran a sub-20:00 time. I later achieved my PR and season record, a sub-19:00, during my second race of the season. I plan on training throughout the rest of this year to ensure I will get faster and stronger for next year's season. I plan on achieving a sub-16:00 by the end of my senior year and I am willing to do whatever it takes to get there because with willpower, determination, and commitment anything is possible. Over the summer I prepared for my junior year while at the same time ensuring I got my daily runs in to keep my endurance and overall performance at its best. For my Junior year of track, I ran with a few varsity members of the cross country team to ensure that I was ready for the track and field season in the spring. We ran 5 days a week and I also got an extra run in every weekend. I have also been lifting weights and doing other body weight training exercises to strengthen my muscles which are a large part of running performance and ability.
