My interest in running started when I was in Elementary School. In my district at the end of the year all the Elementary Schools participate in the Soares Olympics. They had many events similar to track and that's where I found my love for running. Even though it was only for a small portion of time it was the thing I waited every year for. Back then it was only sprinting events but in middle school track I found long distance running to be something that I enjoyed a lot more. Being able to adapt in and accept new areas is something that makes me a great addition to any team.
Throughout my time in track I never had a coach that was experienced in long-distance. This led to me becoming my own coach and learning how to improve on myself in more areas than just running. Learning how to get myself to improve has transferred over into many areas of my life. It has also given me the drive to never give up and to always have hope that I can move onto the next level. This makes me an athlete and a student that you can rely on.
