At a young age I found a special joy in running, and when the idea of XC in high school came around, I jumped on the opportunity. Not only is XC a way to build lasting relationships with team members, but it is also a way to become stronger, learn to endure mental battles, and understand how far you can truly push your body. Throughout my Freshman Cross Country season I learned that I truly love the sport, and am capable of competitively running. Despite not being the fastest kid out on the field, I have learned that training consistently, and choosing to fight those threatening thoughts that tell you to give up, has slowly made me a more motivated and a legitimate factor in races. I also believe that the Lord has gifted me with a strong and capable body to not only run the distance but do so well.
