Nicholas Mederios '18 Recruiting Profile

I consider myself to be a quiet competitor. I'm serious about what I do in Track & Field, but I don't exactly go around asking for times, advice, technique, etc. Instead, I like to observe my competition throughout the season. I ask myself questions like "what do they do for warm ups?" or "what does this person do to run as well as they do?" and apply it to my warm ups and technique. I've had most of my races recorded for playback, and that's where the real work begins. I see what I'm doing right and how I can further improve it, and also look at what's wrong and how to fix it. Towards the end of each season, I'm outrun by a select few. Every year, I get one inch closer to being ahead of them. I believe that my application of others' techniques into my own routine that I'll be just that closer to getting over the finish line first.
