I came into the high jump un-athletic, and never having received any coaching. My first year, as I fell in love with the event, I committed to staying on the track every day until I was the last one out. During my 3 month long track season, which I started with a sprained ankle, I improved my jump from 5'2 to 5'6. From that point, I have worked towards getting my jump stronger, and getting higher, not only for myself, but to help my team in any competitions we may go to. I haven't had access to high jump facilities in two years, but I've continued working out my legs, and going to open meets to practice. I now jump 6'0, and want to improve even more over this year.
As a member of the college I go to, I hope to improve even more, and bring success to whatever team I may be on.
