Hi. My name is Henry Denberg. I have had a passion for running since the 8th grade and I guess you could say I have a competitive side. Like in eighth grade, when a friend told me I would n’t last a day on the cross country team. With that challenge, I never looked back.
That year I was league runner up.
Once high school came, I continued to run with it. Literally and figuratively finishing as the 5th freshman on the Central Coast in Division 5, as well as getting a 3.6 GPA.
The next year as a sophomore my team moved up into a more competitive league and more talented section, including four teams that placed top 10 at state. This pushed me to my goals to run a sub-seventeen 3 mile and earn myself a spot in the North Coast Section Championship, where I ran a 16:47 to place top 10 among sophomores in the section as well as getting 29th overall.
In these last two years, I have fallen in love with the sport causing me to join a club track team as well as running cross country. I'm working hard to get better for my junior and senior years and hoping to run at the collegiate level.
