My name is Luke Lucchesi, I’m currently a Senior at Saint Mary’s High School. My passion for running started when I ran cross country for the first time in 5th grade and I’ve loved it ever since. I not only enjoy the sport, but the runners I run with, and the larger running community it creates. I was nominated Team Captain for my Cross-Country team this year.
My goal as Captain, was not only to lead our team to league championships – which we won, but to motivate and inspire all our runners. My PR for a 5K was 17:05 during the league championship. My PR for the mile is a 4:45. This year my goals for Track is a 4:30 mile and to break 10:00 for 3200.
My interest in health and sports has lead me to pursue a career in Physical Therapy. I have had the opportunity to job shadow a Physical Therapist which showed me it's a career that allows me to help other recover from illness and injuries.
I would like to have the chance to run in college to not only to contribute to the team’s over all performance, but also as a committed and supportive teammate.
