Hello my name is Cooper Allen. I am a Junior at STEM School Highlands Ranch (Class of 2026). I take part in both Cross Country and Track and Field. I have always loved the idea of running, even in my younger years as a kid. I started with “Fun Runs” with my Mom and a running club in Elementary school. I like to run because it boosts my mood and energy, helps me focus, and pushes my body and mind. I believe I get better at running every single time I run.
Inside school, I am a hardworking and very productive student. I always want to find a way to challenge myself. I have maintained good grades and a high GPA of 3.75, or 3.9 with weighted classes. I have taken two AP classes so far, and plan to take more in the future. Classes I enjoy in school are Engineering, Math, History, and Physical Education.
Outside of running & school, I work at a Retirement Facility as a server in one of the restaurants. I started working at the age of 14 and have been working for two years. My other hobbies include camping and/or hiking with my family, skiing, and playing guitar.
When I entered high school, I aspired to one day run at the college level. I knew this would require taking the sport seriously. My Freshman year in Track, I made the Varsity team and won the Rookie of the Year award. Entering my sophomore year, I also made Varsity team and won a couple awards at meets. I hope to one day attend a college that will not only help push myself to an even greater level of running but also make me a better rounded person in other aspects of life in the future during and after college.
