Tavon Underwood '23 Recruiting Profile

As a multi-sport athlete, I strive to physically and mentally improve myself year-round. I’ve always played at least two sports at a time. I'm not a stranger to pushing my body to its absolute limit every day. I’ve run track and played soccer since I was very young, but I did not develop a real passion for track until my Sophomore year of high school. Since then my utmost priority has been to better myself academically and athletically, so I could pursue track beyond high school. Though it’s been a struggle, my work has undeniably paid off and I only continue to improve as I keep training. My team skills and leadership qualities are well developed as a result of my time spent on the soccer field. My fearless and competitive spirit has grown beyond measure after going up against some of the best runners at the USATF Junior Olympic Nationals. My grades and academics have improved exponentially since my sophomore year of high school, displaying my resilient fortitude, even after COVID year set me back so far. I continue to challenge myself academically by taking every step at my disposal to prepare myself for college. My overall goal is to be the best that I can be at everything I do.
