Hello. My name is Tyler Parker and I currently run for Coal Ridge XC and Track. That is just my current status. Most of my life I have been running. I picked the sport up as part of a club in elementary school. From there I became faster and started seeing some minor successes prompting me to devote more time and taking my training more seriously. With the exception of a global pandemic I have had a relatively uninterrupted 6 years of dedicated training and racing. It is a long arduous process that I have enjoyed for the past couple years and am looking to continue in college.
As well as running I have also dedicated a large portion of my time to my academics while at this school. As an 8th grader I had the privilege to move up to the highschool to take advanced classes like AP and CMC. Something I continue to do to this day. With it I have learned various skills that I might not have been exposed to had I taken regular classes. Those skills have helped me achieve 3's and 5's on AP tests as well as passing my college classes given by Colorado Mountain College (CMC). It has been a very exciting window into the studies of actual college classes.
When I'm not exhausting myself in running or burying myself in studying I enjoy my more relaxing hobbies to balance the day. Fishing is one of them. Living in Colorado I have luxury of being within 5 minutes of some body of water wherever I go. A reality that I take advantage of whenever I can. However Colorado doesn't always provide pristine fishing weather all the time so I find myself shut indoors. Here I like to play guitar on the days I can't be outside by a like or river. Much like fishing and running I was self taught and have enjoyed the learning process that comes with it. Perseverance to learn has been a skill that I've picked up in many facets of life and have reaped the benefits of and a skill that I hope to maintain wherever I go.
