Running is different from the other sports I have played. I started playing soccer when I was 5 years old, moving from rec league, to club soccer. After 4 years of club soccer, I realized it just wasn't really the best fit for me. At the start of my high school career, I was not in the best head space. My brother had passed away, I had lost a few good friends and my relationships began to feel stale. That's why freshman year I decided to try out running with the cross country team.
Since then its been all uphill, the team welcomed and pushed me from the very beginning; not only in my running, but in my academics and other ventures as well. Many of the team members have become some of my closest and most cherished friends. Running made me realize that even when something is difficult and you feel like stopping, keep pushing through and the pay off will be well worth the pain and effort. Fast forward and I have been the fastest runner on my team for 3 years, and have no intention of slowing down! I have also become happier, more confident, and have a brand new outlook on life. I would love to run with a college team and build lasting relationships, while also pushing and being pushed by my new teammates, and running under a coach who uses their experience and expertise to challenge and lift me to new heights both academically and physically
