I first became interested in track and field because it was really the only thing I was good at. But after my first school track season, I started to enjoy working on and watching technical aspects such as blocks and running form. It became fun to work on, and seemed less like a chore and more like fun the longer I ran track. Going into college, my academic aspirations are to graduate and move on to become an occupational therapist. My athletic aspirations are to be on championship winning team. I want to run in college because it is fun, but also to gain experience and knowledge so that I can one day become a coach. What makes me a good candidate for a team is that I can learn easily, always give full effort, am constantly searching for ways to improve, and will do what my coaches ask me too. Academics wise, although I’m not normally the smartest kid in the class, I do contribute to things like class discussions and give my best effort when in class. As an athlete, I think my versatility sets me apart from others. For example, in my junior season, at our conference championship I placed 6th in the 100m behind 4 state finalists, and then went on to win the 800m and anchored the 4x400m relay to come 2nd to the eventual state champions. 2 weeks later, I placed 5th at our state 400m final, and helped my relay team finish 6th. My versatility in being able to run events from 800m all the way down 100m is what sets me apart athletically. What sets me apart from other recruits character wise is that I have a good set of morals that I stick true with, and that you’ll never have to worry about me partying or doing drugs or that stuff. I really enjoy track and field and would love to be able to run for a team that can I can contribute to, while also being able to complete my academic requirements for my future past college.
