Hi, my name is Colten Smith. I attend Monrovia High School. In the fall, I participate in cross country and soccer. In the spring, I participate in track and field and volleyball. I really enjoy participating in multiple sports. I have enjoyed joining the soccer and volleyball teams in order to participate in more of a team sport but my favorite sport is track and field. In addition to sports, I am a member of DECA, National Honors Society, and Student Athletic Advisory Council. Academically, I enjoy math and science classes. In the future, I am interested in studying business or electrical engineering.
My favorite event is the 800 M. I love the combination of a sprint with the distance component. I also enjoy running the 4X400 and the 4x800. Relays are fun and l love working as part of a team. Pole vaulting is a newer event for me and I have really enjoyed learning how to be successful in this event. My highlight of this track season was running the 800 M at sectionals and hitting my goal time at 1:56.10, which was also a new school record.
My long term goal is to run track and field at the collegiate level. I hope to join a team that will push me and challenge me.
