I am excited about the potential of applying my love of track into my higher education goals. My 3 main track goals are to compete at a high level, to acquire strong discipline and training and to continue to challenge myself to perform at my best. Throughout my 8 years of running, I have won many track and cross-country awards that include recognition for leadership and consistently cutting the most time off of my races.
When entering high school, I began focusing more on hurdles and have held a varsity spot the entire time. Outside of school, I have a dedicated hurdles coach and train with a sports performance team to work on strength, form, and rhythm as well as focus on nutrition. With the help of these trainers and a lot of hard work, I have qualified to run the 400m Hurdles in the 2023 Junior Olympics in Iowa by cutting 8 seconds from my time in only 4 races, to finish 3rd in the Chicago regional.
In addition to my time on the track, I have been developing my leadership skills as I enjoy mentoring and being a great teammate. I was selected amongst a group of peers to complete a Counselor in Leadership Training (CILT) at a YMCA Camp in Indiana, I participate in Best Buddies and am a captain on our Zionsville Mountain Bike Team.
