My goals for college are to study for a career in sports medicine, competitively dive, have fun and make great memories along the way. I would love to be on a college diving team because it's my stress reliever. When I am diving it clears my head and I have total focus. I am a gymnast turned diver and that allows me to progress even farther than I ever did in gymnastics. I am a good addition to the team because I'm a hard worker but also bring a little spunk along with inspiring and motivating others to do their best. I'm very good multitasker and am quite independent. For example, I am a Senior in high school taking advanced and honors classes, I coach gymnastics and work on a golf course on the weekends, all while keeping up a busy diving practice schedule. I don't know how I manage to do it all, sometimes it's a struggle, but I always have a fun time and positive attitude while doing it.
My high school diving career has been very different than others, but has been some of the most fun I have had and helped me learn a lot. My sophomore year we went into the season thinking we didn't have a coach, and the one we got had no clue what she was doing so we were figuring out everything by ourselves, but I ended up getting 5th at Sectionals. My Junior year I had my season cut short because of a stress fracture on my L4 (lower back). This year is also not normal with everything with COVID-19 happening, but even with that and coming back from the back injury, I have managed to get some of my highest scores.
