Thanks for considering me as an athlete for your school. My academic and athletic achievements are the result of hard work and discipline. Nothing has been given to me and I do not commit lightly or take for granted the opportunities placed in front of me.
I didn’t find cross country until my sophomore year when I was recruited by the coach because I was a known triathlete. However, I believe my history as an elite athlete in other sports (2-time state champion in triathlon and 7-time national champion in Taekwondo and 3rd degree blackbelt) has given me a good base to work with in running.
Last year, I only participated in cross country meets for my school while training for the rowing team. I finished second in the conference and helped my team win the conference championship. This year, I will be a full-time participant on the cross-country team and I really love competing with my friends.
I apply the same discipline to academics that I do to athletics. I would like to get into medical school and I hope athletics can help me do so. Thanks again for looking at my profile.
