My inspiration for track and field started when I found out my father ran for the Firebirds Track Club. We would sit in the basement of our house watching his old VHS tapes of his highlights. I knew then that I wanted to try track and field. My first experience though was not until my eighth grade track and field "Play Day" where I ran the 4x100m and 4x200m relays. I instantly knew that I wanted to continue track and field as a sport. I started in high school freshman year on the schools indoor track team. I competed in the 55m dash and the 4x200m relay. Since it was my first season things were still new to me. My best in the 55m dash was 7.31s while the 4x200m relay was 1:42.64s. Then came outdoor track and I competed in the 100m dash, 200m dash, 4x100m relay, and 4x200m relay. My best in the 100m dash was 11.81s, while my best in the 200m dash was 24.22 seconds. Our best 4x100m relay time was 45.14s, and the best 4x200m relay of that season was 1:34.63s. After outdoor track ended I joined the Lighting Running Club and competed in the 100m dash and 200m dash. I sadly only competed in two meets though because I joined the team late in the season. Then came the fall season and I just focused on training for the next track season. I made and agreement with my schools Cross Country coach to let me be trained as a sprinter for track if I joined the team. When the next indoor season came around I knew I was ready to beat my previous best times. I competed in the 55m dash, and the 4x200m relay again. But I also competed in the Sprint Medley relay for one meet at Georgetown Prep high school. My best in the 55m dash was 6.88s and my teams best 4x200m relay was 1:39.50s. Our Sprint Medley got 3:53.73 at the Last Track to Philly Invite. I am currently continuing to train as the Indoor Season has ended for me and I am waiting for the next Outdoor Season to start. I plan to go back to Lightning Running Club as the Outdoor Season ends, hopefully being able to join earlier so I get more meets added to my season. My goals for college are to be the best sprinter I can be in my events and score many points for my team and beat my fathers best 100m dash time of 10.42s. I am a truly dedicated sprinter and will do whatever it takes to be the best I can be.
